Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become one of the 100 Women Who Care Campbell River?

Anyone who lives, works or enjoys Campbell River can become a Member by making a $100 donation (e-transfer or by cheque) and signs the member commitment form. Members can then nominate an organization to be considered to receive one of the two $5000+ donations.

How do I make my Donation?

1. By E-transfer. Follow the instructions from your bank and when it asks for a contact or who to send to use email address donate@100womencampbellriver.ca. When asked for a password, please use 100womencr.

2. By cheque to 100 Women Campbell River and include 100 Women Who Care donation in the memo section. Drop off your cheque at S. McInnes & Associates Ltd. Chartered Professional Accountant or Coastal Notary Group

Which organizations can I nominate to be considered to receive a $5000+ donation?

A member in good standing (paid their $100 donation and signed the commitment form) can submit the name and project of a local organization. Qualified organizations can also submit their name and project for consideration. All submissions must use the Nomination Form.

In order to be considered, an organization must be based in the Campbell River and surrounding area and it must be a registered not-for-profit OR charitable organization. It must be previously established and in operation for a minimum one year (no start-ups). No national or international charities, programs or organizations will be considered at this time as the current focus is on contributing to our local community. Nomination Form.

How are the organizations chosen to receive a portion of the group donation?

Members who have completed their commitment form and made a $100 donation are eligible to vote. Voting will take place at the 100 Women Who Care Campbell River cocktail reveal party, members in attendance will vote by secret ballot for two organizations to receive a $5000+ donation each.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Since we are providing this opportunity to both registered not for profits and charitable organizations to be considered to receive a portion of the funds and since only charitable status organizations can issue tax receipts, we determined at this time that we would keep it simple and not request tax receipts to be issued. However, once the first event of the cocktail reveal launch party happens then future meetings may revisit this.

Can I just send the donation to the charity myself?

Because the goal of 100 Women Who Care Campbell River is to make a larger donation on behalf of the whole group, the answer is no. We want to be able to support this endeavor and make a large impact in our community with each member's donation being part of the larger donation. This is the power of joining forces!

How long will the voting reveal cocktail party last?

The voting reveal cocktail party is a fun event with complimentary appetizers, a no host bar and great socializing for 100 minutes. Check out the Member Event page for information about our next event.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course you can! We are always seeking women who care! However, in order to vote she will need to sign a Commitment Form, make a $100 donation and become a member prior to attending the cocktail party.

Does any of my donation go to administration costs of 100 Women Who Care?
