How do I become one of the 100 Women Who Care Campbell River?
Anyone who lives, works or enjoys Campbell River can become a Member by making a $100 donation (e-transfer or by cheque) and signs the member commitment form. Members can then nominate a charity to be considered to receive the $10,000+ donation.
How do I make my Donation?
1. By E-transfer. Follow the instructions from your bank and when it asks for a contact or who to send to use email address donate@100womencampbellriver.ca. When asked for a password, please use 100womencr.
2. By cheque to 100 Women Campbell River and include 100 Women Who Care donation in the memo section. Drop off your cheque at Coastal Notary Group.
Which charity can I nominate to be considered to receive a $10,000+ donation?
An active member (made their $100 donation) can submit the name of a local charity. All submissions must use the Nomination Form.
In order to be considered, the charity must be based in the Campbell River and surrounding area and it must be a registered charitable organization. It must be previously established and in operation for a minimum one year (no start-ups).
How are the charities chosen to receive a portion of the group donation and how do I vote?
Members who have completed their commitment form and made a $100 donation are eligible to vote. 3 nominations are drawn at the meeting, the members who made those nominations will give a 5 minute presentation. Following the 3 presentations members will vote by secret ballot for one charity to receive a $10,000+ donation (must be in attendance to vote, there is no online voting).
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, all nominated charities will issue individual tax receipts.
Can I just send the donation to the charity myself?
Because the goal of 100 Women Who Care Campbell River is to make a larger donation on behalf of the whole group, the answer is no. We want to be able to support this endeavor and make a large impact in our community with each member's donation being part of the larger donation. This is the power of joining forces!
How long will the meeting last?
The meeting is a fun annual event with a no host bar and great socializing for 100 minutes. Check out the Member Event page for information about our next event.
Can I bring a friend?
Of course you can! We are always seeking women who care! However, in order to vote she will need to sign a Commitment Form, make a $100 donation and become a member prior to attending the meeting.
Does any of my donation go to administration costs of 100 Women Who Care?
Absolutely not! 100 Women Who Care Campbell River is organized and operated entirely by volunteers. 100% of the money raised goes directly to the selected charity!
What do you do with my personal information?
100 Women Who Care Campbell River collects your personal information (including name, address, email address, phone number) strictly for the purpose of maintaining our membership list. We will not sell, give or otherwise share your personal information without your express consent, unless required by law.
Is this a one time event?
This is not a one time event! Check out the Member Events page for upcoming events.
Why did we change the format in 2025?
To enable greater member engagement, greater charity impact and new opportunities for members to learn from each other about the great work charities are doing in our community.
Why did we decide to only give one charity the donation instead of two?
Our collective member donation of up to $10,000 will enable the charity who receives the donation to have even greater impact.
